Debian Empire

Almost a millennia ago the Debian empire was just a small aristocratic city-state named Moros, one of many human cities on the prosperous Maruda coast. Appointment of Gaelineal Debian as city consul and his militaristic and stoic reforms turned Moros into a superior militaristic, meritocratic state with big ambitions. The Marudan coast was united in 250 years by a series of bloody conflicts. Born from war and stoic administration Debians the conquered rest of humans in the eastern planes, southern lands, borderlands, and the cold northern Sevor thus uniting all easterners in one state. New human state secured victory against mighty goblinoid legions after prolonged wars which was the last war where Debians met strong resistance. Other regions well quickly and only dwarfs held for 80 years in their mountain fortresses. Now Debia is controlling most of the known world and focuses on stabilization of newly conquered western lands, but recent attempts to colonize Feros showed that there still land to conquer for the golden phoenix.

History

Overthrow of the republic
House Galineal for centuries has influenced Moruan politics and had countless consuls, senators and generals serving the republic becoming more and more popular and accumulating more and more power in the republic. Lefteris Galineal led republican armies against hobgoblin legions in the Morgartan Asttan hills and scored astonishing victories subjugating hobgoblins, he returned home triumvirate and was granted position as military consul of Moros. Lefteris consolidated more and more power in the republic wanting to become dictator for life without senate's approval, this led to political instability and later civil war with Lefteris, house galineal and common populus on one side and senate with influential patricians families and governors loyal to the senate. Civil War was bloody and lasted for 110 years resulting with Lefterises cousin Demitros finally ending bloody conflict and becoming first absolute ruler of the republic.
Galineal peace
Newly established rule of House Galineal began reforming republic into empire and proclaimed peace, prosperity and justice as main goals of the consuls and senate. Although Demitros Galineal got almost unlimited power and could proclaim himself as emperor and restore times of monarchy he decided to humbly become consul for life by becoming grand consul of Morus and kept senate as "primal" governing body. Period of Galineal reforms and stability is called Galineal peace which lasted for 100 years and resulted in creation of Debian empire as we know it today strong, stable and just.
Imperial expansion
At the end of Galineal peace what was left of republic of Moros transitioned into Debian empire ruled by iron but fair fist of emperor, meritocratically appointed senate and imperial administration, although most loyal and worthy regions get some degree of autonomy ruled by locally elected councils that cooperate with imperial administration and army. This fair but strict rule stabilized the unruly regions with combination of repression and development while loyal regions were rewarded with autonomy under guidance of imperial prefects and governors. This newly reformed, stable realm now was ready for further expansion and finally conquered the rest of newly renamed continent of Debia and established rule over Fusian city-states in just 20 years. Imperial war machine crushed the unorganized armies of eastern human nations with ease and annexed entire continent without spilling a single drop of blood and turned their sight at the dwarfs of Osovad. The relatively undefended hill dwarfs fell very quickly to vast Debian legions but highly fortified mountain dwarfs managed to resist the empire for almost a century, but as food and manpower dwelled in fortified dwarven cities, they started to fall and Debians secured victory and conquered Osovad.
Pax Debia
After the grand imperial conquest newly crowned emperor Florentios Galinieal decided to halt further expansion to prevent overextension and destabilization of the empire. Instead vast imperial resources were put into integrating imperial administration in newly conquered lands, unrest was suppressed by brutal executions of the dissidents and imperial custodians were created for prevention and detection of crime, and the maintenance of public order. Capital was moved from Moros to newly constructed imperial city of Debos on the nunnian coast to handle unrest and govern newly subjugated lands, while historical and loyal regions got autonomy to handle civic matters to themselves but with consultation with imperial administration. Florentios'es work was continued by his grandson Sergios Galinieal whos rule stabilized Debia and even though unrest is still present in some regions of Osovad and Nunnia they are of not a threat to the mighty golden phoenix.
Conflict on Feros
Even though Debia didn't have any wars under the rule of Florentios and Sergios few conflicts with outside powers took place most recent of them is conflict between imperial settlers and natives of the wild continent of Feros. Autonomous regions of maruda decided to fund big expeditions to Feros long known but never charted because of hostile wildlife and the territorial natives of Feros. Imperial senate was interested in new lands and funded colonization of wild and unclaimed land. Southern arid lands were colonized but were constantly plagued by raids from natives which they successfully repelled. Imperial senate focused on stabilization and assimilation of eastern lands and didn't react to those raids. But after the death of Sergios Galineal the new emperor Demitros II Galineal who is interested in expanding empire and protecting its citizens from outsider threats.
