Aether crystals

Aether crystals are the magic crystals that act as a magical fuel source, for magical incantations and item creation as well as industrial uses.

People that work with crystals can use and modify crystals in a variety of ways. Crystals can be worked into clothing, armor, and weapons. This is done by using a crystal to etch a spell into an object, transfer they crystal magical properties into an object or slot the crystal into the object. The crystals can be engraved with runes carved in them can only use that spell once a day or for a set time. Transference gives weapons and armor resistance to damage for sources aligned to the crystal type used. Etching can give the item resistance /damage or 1 spell only. Once an item is etched that locks what kind of etching it can be placed on it effect or spell.

Aether crystals were only found in groves before the age of storms. Since then crystals have been found all over the world.

Aether crystals were first introduced to the races by the Dragons. They are used as a fuel source and substitutes for magical components in spells.
