The cities and tunnels of the SKARHIR CONFEDERACY

The cities of the Skarhir Confederacy/shield confederacy are unique when compared to the cities of Dunwarick. While cities of Dunwarick are large and be measured as such with the naked eye this is not true of Dwarfish cities. Dwarfish cities are only partially on the surface as it makes it easer for non dwarfs to find them. These entrances cities carved in the side of mountains were most non dwarf residents resided or those who are not fearful of living under ground.   Since the age of Storms the Confederacy has only 5 major cities. Now this might seem a small number but the size of theses cities pertictulartly the underground portions are easily two to three times larger than the city of Mactireban. These cities are usually broken into three districts. Residential, Commercial and military.     The largest city of the Confederacy is its capitol Bronze Bastion. the under city runs from the Bronze Harbor, the only landing point on the island, to the Bronze and Silver mountains. It is the seat of power for the government and the guilds. It is also the main hub of the tunnel system that connects all the under cities. It is important to note the Bronze Bastion upper portion is more fortress than city. For more information on that city please see the Bronze Bastion entry.    Each city is connected to the Bronze Bastion by an intricate tunnel and mine car rail system. These tunnels are used to transport goods and people via foot traffic, caravan or mine cart rail. These tunnels are open to the public and for commercial use. It is important to note that some pre age of storms tunnels are as of writing unmapped or lead to the under dark please use extreme caution when traveling via tunnel so you stay in marked and mapped tunnels. Maps of the tunnels are posted in every waystation(small underground towns) between cities.  War tunnels are for military use only, non military personnel are subject to arrest.           Like the Gnomes of United Cities of Amalur the Confederacy has developed its own rail system. After many years of research, investment and standardization a unified rail system was created and put in place to connect all the cities and then Bronze Bastion. The train itself is smaller in scale when compared to its gnomish counter part but runs at a faster speed due to its smaller size and the fact it is mainly used to transport cargo. A passenger train system is in the works as of this writing but not fully ratified as of this writing.     The cities of the Confederacy are as follows: The Bronze Bastion the capitol, located between the Steel and Bronze Mountains.  Todir is west in the Steel Mountains its upper city is a mile away from the Steel lake. Doral is to the east and is north of the Bronze its upper city is on the shores of the Bronze lake. Lodar is to the south it is found in the Iron mountains 10 miles from the Iron lake. The city of Tharim is located to the south west in the Broken Forest on the shores of the Black Lake. It is advised extreme cation be used when traveling in or around the Broken Forest as it is home to all manner of beast and strange occurrences.
