Zestus - god of death
god of death Zestus
Finally Zestus is the third and youngest child of Xelene and Linos. He was mde the guardian of the souls of the deceased in the realm of death. He will watch over the dead until their souls return to their most natural state, resembling chaotic energy that makes up most of the world, so that they will eventually be reborn by Ineas again.
He's mostly depicted in a shapeless form of blue flames surrounded by shadows and a a glowing skull with large horns.
Along with Urdall he's one of the only two gods who can't interact with the world of the living directly. Since he's associated with death he's ofter worshipped by graveyard keepers, priests but on the flipside murderers, necromancers and other people who are associated with darker, evil intentions.
Contrary to common belief he's a very just and lonely god who will only interact with the realm of the living indirectly to keep balance.
When a person dies in the realm of the living, it's soul will pass through the realm of time to relive it's past life before passing into the realm of death.
There are no proper descriptions of the latter realm since nobody ever left that realm with an intact conscience. Zestus made it his duty to watch over the souls, finding joy in the stories they bring.
Whenever a soul leaves the realm of death there are two possible options why.
First option being that it finally found peace and returned into it's natural state and offering the chaotic energy to create a new life-
The second, more unnatural way is by being raised from death via necromancy. The process doesn't allow the soul to find peace and will likely result in memory loss or a completely diffused mind. Thus necromancy is considered a crime equal to murder regarding it's severety and often punished by death.
