One of the two shards of the legnedary weapon Dawnbringer, Bane of the Undead, that are in the possession of the Dawncrest Family, was reported stolen. One of the house guards reported a small, vaguely humanoid creature making off with the shard in the dead of night. The guard was unable to apprehend the nimble thief.
The Governor's son went missing. A party of adventurers is hired to find him and bring him home by any means necessary.
In the early hours of Redfall 5, the Queen reported Kithri Moontender, her beloved lady-in-waiting, missing. A few hours later lady's mutilated corpse was discovered in one of the guest rooms reserved for noble visitors. Despite thorough investigations, the culprit never was caught. Her corpse vanished before she could be buried. The Queen was so enraged that she had the members of the Royal Guard on duty in that part of the palace fired and exiled from the city.
It was a tradition for the late King of Edune to go on a hunting expedition with a select few guards from the Royal Guard in early Sunrose. This time neither he nor any of his guards returned from their trip. Search parties were sent, but it seems like the king and his retinue disappeared into thin air. Nearly half a year later they were officially declared dead.
When confronted with the combined armies of the Ebean nations, shortly before the fighting began, the Necromancer cast a spell, forcing every humanoid creature that dies to raise as in undead in the Necromancer's service within 72 hours of dying.
