Personal history
Theddul grew up an enclosed dwarf who has lived his entire life inside the mountain where the An-Karesh tribe of dwarves make their home. It is usual in the tribe that everyone is educated within one specific function necessary for their society to work. Theddul has worked as a stonemason for most of his life, but he was always drawn to the roaring flames of the smith's furnace, without any opportunity to ever follow up on it.
Over time Theddul became increasingly opposed to the work requirements of his home, and, on one fateful day, he discovered something he'd never seen before. A tiny green shape moving in big arches, ended by an ever so silent 'ribbit'. His curiosity was peaked, and he felt an unending desire to figure out where this tiny creature was heading, so he followed it. It might've been days, weeks, or months, Theddul has no idea, but he followed, and overtime befriended the tiny frog until he found himself no longer surrounded by the comforts of the mountain walls but rather in a big open space crawling with all types of creatures he had never seen before.
As he traveled the now open roads, he began studying the different lifeforms, and various flora, and buildings around him, attempting to understand and even apply their mechanics.
Theddul eventually made his way to Starharbor. He was there mid-Harvestaul, when the Governor's son, William Dawncrest, went missing. Along with two other adventurers, Philomena Manamix and Lazooti Rallo, he helped find and rescue William. The party found William in a cave at the base of the cliff Starharbor was built on, where he surely would have ended up as a snack to a Naiad and the pack of Grindylows she was taking care of. They managed to safely reunite William with his father, Henry Dawncrest.
As a reward, he was granted access to the Mage's Tower in Starharbor.
Education
Initially, he was transcribing his discoveries on various slabs of stone he had acquired throughout his leaving of the mountain, but on his travels, he met a well-traveled member of the Order of the Scribes who gifted him a spellbook as well as the basic understandings of magic. He uses these gifts to continuously attempt to understand and use the elements of the various wildlife he encounters.
