Gatherhold

Gatherhold is a large town, and the largest settlement, in the Talenta Plains . Built into rocky outcroppings on the eastern shore of Lake Cyre , it is shared by all the tribes of halflings as a place to trade, hold celebrations and festivals, and have tribal councils. House Ghallanda has its headquarters there and maintains the town. House Orien maintains a lightning rail line that passes through the town and used to continue on into Metrol , before the Day of Mourning .

Demographics

Primarialy Halflings but as Gatherhold is the largest (and for al intents and purposes, only) settlement in the Talenta Plains there is a minority of other races about, usually seeking business with House Ghallanda or attempting to establish a foothold with one of the larger nomadic tribes.

Government

The government of Gatherhold is decentralized, as is the government of the Talenta Plainsat large. Gatherhold serves as the the capital city more by virtue of being the largest settlement than by any planning on the part of the Halflings of the plains tribes. The influence of two Dragonmarked Houses has served to stabilize the city in the absence of a more traditional government. Despite the lack of true central authority Lathlon Halpum hold the largest segment of power and sway over Gatherhold.

Infrastructure

Such infrastructure as there is was largely built by the Houses of Ghallanda and Jorasco as well as a scattering of the more entrepreneurial outsiders seeking to get a foothold in the Talenta Plains and possible cut trade deals with some of the The Talenta Halflings nomadic tribes.
