The Myth of the Progenitor Dragons

The Progenitor Dragons

If you grew up in Eberron no matter where, you know the Myth of the three dragons that created the world. In the beginning, the dragons Siberys , Eberron and Khyber first created the thirteen planes, each one reflecting a particular concept such as Fernia the plane of fire or Mabar the plane of endless night. Their last effort created the material plane where our campaign begins. Shortly after creating the material plane Khyber attempted to steal their creation for herself murdering Siberys and in the process, shattering the dragon into numerous pieces now known as the Ring of Siberys which surrounds the planet to this day. Eberron fought Khyber but being evenly matched could not overpower her. Instead, Khyber coiled herself around cruel Khyber and formed the planet Eberron that we know today, forever sealing Khyber in the depths below.

Siberys: The Dragon Above

Siberys is said to be the source of magic. To this day the the planet is said to be surrounded by the remains of the great dragon in for form of the Ring of Siberys . Siberys Dragonshards occasionally fall from the ring to be found on the surface of Eberron.

Eberron: The Dragon Between

Eberron is said to be the source of all life as well as the planet itself. Eberron Dragonshards (sometimes called bloodstones) found most commonly on the continent of Khorvaire are said to be the condensed remnants of the dragon's power.

Khyber: The Dragon Below

Khyber is said to be the source of the Fiends and Abberations of the Underdark . Khyber Dragonshards are the most dangerous to obtain due to their location in extremely perilous realms.

The Dragons Siberys, Eberron and Khyber.
