03 Session Report - Taking Out Old Gaar
General Summary
The battle with Old Gaar unfolded quickly. A few blows were landed on the old gator before he chomped into Berwin and took out Ronnodin with a tail swipe. The party deftely continued to inflict damage while providing aid to their fallen comrade. Between ice daggers, bows and hand crossbows, the gator was put on the ropes before Ryker hit him with a solid sword blow. The old beast tried to escape the onslaught but was shot down.
The party made camp and processed their prey before returning to Predilten the following day where they were received like conquering heros. The children quickly started calling them "The Gator Slayers", a bonfire was built and a party was had with old lady Mildrenden breaking out some of her famous rhubarb carrot cake.
The next day, Berwin gave them a ride to a well known camping spot and they had an easy evening before continuing on to First Tower. There, they met back up with Ordie who reported on the tasks they had given him before setting off to find a buyer for their gator hides (and skull).
Ryker and Elias head out to Fort First Tower to check the job board and get some training in. Enna and Tilly go to the Tower View Inn for some food while Ronnodin speaks with Keylspin Rotenburn about the ruins they found. He gets the archeologist to agree to check out the ruins with them and he agrees to get them a reference letter from a dean at Morgrave University for the chance to be the first academic to explore the Dhakaani ruins.
They settle on selling their goods, get a good night's rest and head out in the morning. They spend the night at the same hunter's camp Berwin showed them and then continue to Predilten the following day. The village is happy to see them and Berwin signs up to take them back to the ruins.
