05 Session Report - The Mummy's Curse
General Summary
The party barely catches their breath before the long dead honor guard begins to rise to avenge their fallen lord. The party grabs a few items and Ronnodin's cursed body and makes a quick exit out of the room. Back up in the sweltering King's Forest, Tilly informs them that at most Ronnodin has two days before he succumbs to the curse.
The mission was understood. First Enna had Lefash teleport them back to the Predilton, no small feat for her loyal friend. He was entirely spent and returned to his home world as the villagers took over, offering whatever help they could to the adventurers. The next 15 hours were grueling with heculean efforts of rowing, partly driven on by a particularly disturbing tirade by a dagger waving Elias that Ronnodin and Ryker had to admit was a little unnerving. Enna took on wolf form to add her strength to the effort as the rest of the party scouted, inspected, percepted.
Shortly after dawn First Tower came into view and Ordipe Ordill Talentyle immediately ran out to great them. They frantically ran through town ignoring the looks of the villagers and burst into the Tower View Inn. Always at the ready to serve his patrons, Bhondi d'Ghallanda was there almost immediately with someone who he said had been waiting at the inn for them. The regal and beautiful Elaydren d'Cannith introduced herself as Ronnodin's cousin and she was equally completely shocked to see him in the flesh and horrified at his current condition. She told Bhondi to give the party his best suite and she didn't even wait for the next lightning rail but instead went to House Orien's office and rented a private coach pulled by the best and fasted magebred horses House Denier ever bred.
Several hours later as the party tried to enjoy the suite while worrying about Ronnodin slowly dying in the other room, Kaelen d'Jorasco arrived and did what House Jorasco does best, he employed expert knowledge of medicine and dragonshards and amplified those abilities with his dragonmark and before they even realized it, Ronnodin's skin was completely cleared and he was resting peacefully.
As he rested, the party employed the services of a local who had some knowledge of the arcane. He identified most of the party's belongings with the exception of two that he either couldn't or wasn't comfortable touching long enough to figure out. Ronnodin awoke to find a letter from his cousin offering him the oppertunity to repay her and the party a chance to make some more money. After a heated negotiation with Keylspin Rotenburn they came to an agreement and the party has now decided that they will take the morning lightning rail into Sharn to meet Ronnodin's cousin that evening at the Broken Anvil Inn.
