House Lyrandar

House Lyrandar is a dragonmarked house of half-elves that possess the Mark of Storm. This mark grants various magical benefits that allow its bearers to control the weather which helped them become the most dominant sea faring organization on Khorvaire.

Assets

Lyrandar's business model primarily revolves around using their ability to manipulate weather patterns to aid their seafaring exploits. They are able to prevent all but the most severe storms for taking them and can even send storms to their enemies. But another power they have is the ability to control air and water elemental. Using them to power their ships giving them such speed over normal ships that it is nearly impossible to compete with them on the water. The biggest development for House Lyrandar that occured during the war in 990 YK from a joint project that they worked on with House Cannith and House Sivis. With Cannith's engineering skills and Sivis's unique talents for binding elemental they were able to create the airships. Flying vessels capable of transporting large quantities of passengers and supplies across vast distances and an unprecedented speed, that only members of House Lyrandar are able to helm. Being such a new innovation Lyrandar is still in the process of building in infrastructure that would allow them to capitalize on it. But rest assured it is quickly becoming the centerpiece of their push to expand their influence as far as possible.

History

Lyrandar's power and influence grew dramatically since the end of the Last War. Before the war began most of the trade in Khorvaire relied on the lightning rail system run by House Orien. However, as the war intensified and the empire fragmented the tracks that the lightning rail relied on was mangled. With ground transportation brought to a halt Lyrandar picked up the slack, gaining wealth from trade deals with nations desperate for access to resources. Providing these resources as well as often manipulating the weather around farmlands to ensure good crop, led to their house being one of the most beloved of The Twelve.
