Unfortunately for Karrnath, no sooner had the food shortages eased than plague struck Westhaven on Karrn Bay.

The plague quickly spread to Atur and Korth. In months, fully a third of the Karrnathi soldiers were either dead or incapacitated. The losses among the regular populace, who did not enjoy the same levels of food or medicine, were devastating.
