Death of King Kaius II of Karrnath

Life, Death

Therendor 15th, 961 YK

According to proclamation, King Kaius II died as any Karrnathi monarch should—leading his troops.

In fact, after fifty years of rallying his people in desperate times, the aged king’s body could no longer contain his spirit.   One frigid morning, while reviewing his Conqueror’s Host, Kaius II simply collapsed and breathed his last. Upon his death, the largely cowed Karrnathi warlords began to assert themselves.
