Ament Leywood
Leader of the Sons of Siberys, a grassroots movement to eliminate all people with aberrant dragonmarks.
Ament Leywood was once an archaeologist hired by Morgrave University to study the Mud Caves in Sharn. While Leywood found the goblin tunnels he was expecting to find, he also found a series of tunnels and caves that had nothing to do with the old foundations of the city. The more recent tunnels had sophisicated locked doors and secret passageways, and some were carved with modern tools. Before he could explore any further, Leywood's crew was caught up in an attack committed by the "Sons of Khyber" an aberrant dragonmark gang that seemed to be targeting the area near the Mud Caves. Grabbing all of the artifacts they could carry, Leywood ran with his family to the ships leaving the harbor. One of the gang members struck his ship with a ball of fire, killing many in the flames- including Leywood's family.
Returning under the alias Titos Barakis, Ament Leywood began his campaign against those cursed with the aberrant dragonmark. He's convinced that there's something else going on in the Mud Caves, but a more lethal group has inhabited the halls closer to the mouth of the caves. For now, he's content to conduct his research and learn the secrets of the "Sons of Khyber" and their descendants- House Tarkanan.
In Our Story:
Rare and Rotting Bal stumbled upon the Sons of Siberys and intercepted Leywood while he was torturing an aberrant dragonmarked man for information. Leywood burned the small warehouse down, forcing Rare and Bal to fight for their lives in the flames. Leywood fled to his ship Veracity and has escaped for the time being.Plot Hooks:
