Anton

Anton is a simple man hired by Ambrose Alarud a few years ago as an act of charity and to put the boy to work. Now a grown man, Anton lives in the pub's kitchen and helps the elder Ambrose keep the place clean.
In our story, Anton is maintaining the pub while he waits for Ambrose to return from his errands, which the old man left on a few days ago. Normally the old man talks to Anton as he falls asleep, and he is beginning to worry that something bad happened. Anton is mostly unaware of the nuances of what is happening around him, but he does remember a "fancy old man wearing white" visiting the pub the day Ambrose went missing. In fact, it was the same man that had told him that the barkeep was going on an errand.
