Baron Kwanti d'Orien

Kwanti is the Baron of House Orien and spends most of her time travelling the Western side of the continent in her lightning rail coach called the Silver Unicorn. Her goal is to raise enough money to fix the lightning rail track that cuts through Cyre. She is a young baron, taking control of the House two years ago at the age of 28. There is a bit of desperate energy in the woman. She knows that House Orien is being challenged for relevance by the House Lyrandar airships, and she dreads being the Baron that oversees the end of an era.
The young Baron learned diplomacy from Queen Aurala, and Kwanti has put that knowledge to use. On the one hand she courts the nobles of Khorvaire to secure their coin, and on the other she promotes the use of the existing lightning rail system to the masses as the preferable way to travel. Her hatred of airships is well-documented- so much so that she has prevented the construction of an airship dock in Passage despite the obvious financial benefits. There are even some rumors that the Baron funds saboteurs that disrupt House Cannith's construction of airships or House Lyrandar's ability to pilot them.
