Chaela Tas
Half-Elf with dark bronze skin and shiny black hair. She is usually scantily clad in flowing fabrics designed to draw attention away from any surreptitiously performed spells.
Voice: Valley Girl, Excited
Job: Grifter and charlatan
Location: The Crooked Mirror
Description: Chaela Tas, a charlatan and con artist, more fond of mischief than politics. Though she has been known to tell a few war stories (usually a spy behind enemy lines), the half-elf never served in any of the armies of the five nations out of her own self-interest. She seems to be more interested in the schemes of the changelings she works with and how they service her personal greed than she is with their message. She is, however, the Ek's favorite runner and often passes information from the changeling leader to his subordinates. Only she and The Spider know where he is at all times.
Chaela enjoys a good game of Dragon Poker at the Crooked Mirror, and can often be found carousing with Gorric. Originally her target for information on the Boromar Family in Callestan, she eventually was won over by the halfling and has been his friend for several years.
It is said that Chaela was so good at changing her features by disguise that The Tyrants believed her to be a changeling herself. It was months after she had joined their network before they discovered the truth.
Actions with The Party:
Chaela had been in proximity with the party for several days before engaging them directly. She heard them talk about speaking with "Tyrant One" and has hinted that she may be able to put them in contact with him. In an effort to earn a bit of their trust, she introduced them to an elven paladin of the Silver Flame named Erisna. She has asked the party to be patient with her while she tries to set up a meeting with the one they wish to speak to. The services that she offered are as follows: • Access to black market buying and selling. • Scalped airship and lightning rail tickets. Tickets through Chaela are half price, though using them requires a Charisma (Deception) check of 9. On failure, the ticket is confiscated and the Sharn Watch is notified (fine/consequence). • New identity. A new identity costs 3,000 galifars and comes complete with paperwork and a disguise. Charisma (Deception) checks made in connection with this new identity have advantage for six months. The identity becomes out-of-date in one year and after that Charisma (Deception) checks made to use it are at disadvantage. The identity is a new creation and this does not allow a character to impersonate an existing person or a race other than their own unless they are a changeling. A character caught with a false identity suffers the consequence of that action, and the new identity is compromised. • Use Chaela’s information network. For 100 galifars, a character can use her information network for a +4 bonus and advantage on a single check for Investigation, History, Religion, or Arcana, as well as any other appropriate, information-based check that allows for at least 24 hours of work.Cantrips:
