Dr. Jalena Bridger

Dr. Jalena Bridger is the preeminent expert on construct development in Khorvaire, and a current professor at the University of Arcanix. During The Last War, Dr. Bridger was a major in the Brelish army and designed several of the siege engines used in the last decade of conflict.

Now, as a faculty member, Jalena teaches the young minds of Wynarn Hall how to use their gifts to create powerful machines to enrich the lives of the peoples of Khorvaire. Her out-of-the-box thinking and predilection for hands-on training have made her a favorite amongst her students. Though generally well-liked by her peers, several of her contemporaries do not like that she spends her summer break on the floating fortress of Argonth - or her barely-withheld contempt for the people of Karrnath.

Jalena is generally cool-tempered, unless one of two subjects are discussed: 1) Cutting-edge constructs, of which she is the expert, and 2) Her nemesis from the war, Dr. Calamity. Little is known of her opposite number, but Jalena is sure that Calamity is a moniker for a scion from House Cannith who helped Karrnath during the war, creating constructs that were fueled with necrotic energy.

In our story:

Jalena Bridger was a mentor to Glittergem Boondiggles, and the leader that inspired the gnome to keep up with her studies after being kicked out of Morgrave University. The human artificer always had a soft spot for her protégé, but the two nevertheless lost contact after the war ended.
