Father Simon Taggart

An enigmatic khoravar priest in the Church of the Silver Flame, Father Simon is a handler for the Church's "fixers". He is polite and charming, preferring to speak to his operatives directly and seemingly aloof of issues of state. Though he is rarely given direct access to senior members of the Church, it seems that Simon has connections everywhere.
**Though Simon has never explicitly stated this, Bernard believes that the khoravar works for The Argentum- an organization within the Church that at one time seized magical items. Now that organization is believed to have become a kind of intelligence service for the nation of Thrane, blurring the lines between Church and State.**

In Our Story

Simon is Bernard ir'Laisha's handler and has known him for the past two years. Bernard has rarely spoken to him outside his working capacity, but knows that the priest had connections with Thranish military intelligence during the Last War.
Bernard is introduced to the rest of the Sharn Dragons at Tira's Rest in Thaliost. He is there on official buisiness, investigating allegations into Archbishop Solgar Dariznu. He is running in parallel with the party, and neither will show their hand.

The Masked Friar

The Masked Friar is an elusive bandit in Aundair that has been butchering members of the Silver Flame and is Simon's "white whale". He wants to stop this threat once and for all, but the seemingly random attacks against members of the clergy, knights, paladins, and clerics has prevented the former intelligence officer from developing a sound plan for defeating that threat. He is likely to ask the party for their assistance as soon as he cracks the code.
