Mandodari

Mandodari is the prakhutu of Dral Khatuur. She is the final guardian that prevents the many cultists, warlocks, and other rakshasa that would seek to loose her patron on the Material Plane. She faithfully guards her post and seeks to convert more of Dral Khatuur’s chosen to take up the fight against those who would see the Overlord released/ exiled from her eternal sanctuary.   She is motivated by a prevailing sense of loyalty and duty to Dral Khatuur. A powerful rakshasa in her own right, she is unwilling to venture into the material plane to take a more proactive stance against the forces that seek her patron in Risia. Doing so would prevent her from fulfilling her commitment to serving as the final line of protection.   Mandodari once lived amongst the other Rakshasa during the Age of Demons. Though considered an outcast by many, she admires and respects Durastoran for his raw talent and strong connection to his patron, Bel Shalor. She considers the premier rakshasa far out of her league, though she would want to learn a bit of his skill in manipulating the Draconic Prophecy- if only to help ensure that her patron remains in her sanctuary.   This rakshasa is a willing hermit and lacks many of the social graces that the rest of her kind adopt to lure mortals to do their bidding. She is kind, in her own way, but does not see the mortals that she comes across as worthy of too much of her time or attention. The only caveat to this belief is if she believes that the mortals in question may assist her in the effort to keep Dral Khatuur in her sanctuary. If this is the case, she will awkwardly attempt to convince the mortal(s) to help her with whatever niceties she is able to bring to bear.   If Mandodari were to name a specific goal, it would be to learn enough about the Draconic Prophecy to determine the events that would lead to Dral Khatuur’s release in order to stop it, thereby giving her some reprieve from her never-ending sentry duty.

In Our Story:

Mandodari serves the same Overlord that made a pact with Rare Mavari. She also has an intimate knowledge of the history of Tal Esk, the tiefling civilization that Rare came from. When the party met her in Risia, the threat to Dral Khatuur was The Cleansing Storm, a powerful group of cultists who believed that releasing Dral Khatuur would purge enough humanity from Eberron to wipe the slate clean and start civilization anew.
