Aerenal

Straddling the Thunder Sea and the Dragonreach, the islands of Aerenal lie at (roughly) the equator and are located between the continents of Khorvaire and Argonnessen.
Aerenal is the ancient island kingdom of the Aereni Elves and is the ancestral home of the Valenar Elves as well. 
The government of Aerenal is split between two major branches. Secular power is held by the Sibling Kings (currently, Balareth and Tezaera of the Mendyrian family), a position that must always be held by a brother and sister. These siblings are appointed from the Aereni populace by the Undying Court, which makes up the other branch. They control both religious power (the Undying Court is worshiped as a religion by the elves) and the Aereni's long-term national destiny. This court is made up of the Deathless who rule from Shae Mordai, the City of the Dead.
