Don't trust zGlass or zSlate. Damn underlying Occult Sigildry (OS) and network architecture is full of openings! And the OS is just sloppy. I can't believe gnomes wrote it, i suspect it was outsourced.
Session #10, What a dump!
So looking around there is a big crater. With three large sections of the tower inside. In the center is a hole with a tower rising from it. BOB and I can see the material of the tower is different than the ruins of the tower. BOB and I theory is the tower cam after the crash. though Tidying feels the tower and hole are features there before, that survived the explosion. I admit BOB could be mistaken, he has a curiosity about penises. So we head to one of the ruins. i wanted a different ruin, but was out voted. Though it was more a gut feel that we should go to the southern ruin.
As we approach, we spot harpies, I wanted to fireball, but some concern about harpies being nice harpies and silly notions about protecting the trees delayed that action. The damn beasts started singing. This charmed many of the gang. I should listen to lady and BOB consul than the gangs. I was able to to get one fireball off. Only wounding two harpies. Of course they're not alone. Twig blights came out and attached, then a great harpy queen came forth, then a treant! It was a close call. I fell under the queens siren song for a short while, then dispatched her for that affront. I was victorious. the treat had a dragon shard stuck in it's maw. Perhaps one of the major crystals that allowed the tower to float? Poppy has some story, but all those memories hey have make me question the veracity of they say.
We rest and more ghouls come out. Clay was destroyed, and a different Clay has been remade.
Session#9, Back to Reality
Sorry, been working with BOB. I’ve been introductions BOB to to some more emotionally grounded protagonist. He has no one to talk to except Laddy Furry feather and me. Sometime Lady makes stuff up. A fey spirit in a catfish body does seem to led to certain behaviors.
Moses survived his duel. He is not good at following advice. At least he fit in well with the rest of the gang. I doubt we’ve heard the last of Hootie. Moses can sort of navagate the ways between our world and the fey realm. He and Callie help I was able to to triangulate on where Claire has been pointing. It turns out Callie has lead us to the fallen citadel. It not at all like the brick model I had when I was a child. There are others here. Worse there are a special bred of ghoul. Sort of un-stitched. I’d be curious to take apart their brain.
Session #7, Big Darn Heros
Well Bob, I defeated a dragon. Strangely, the gang actually followed the plan. So they are capable of listening and learning. Well, a bit better. I hit the the dragon and remaining sarlonans with Slow. Unfortunately, it had no effect on the dragon. Still it , ha ha, slowed several sarongs down. That was magical device. Then I hit most everyone with my new spell "Fireball"! Bob is thrilled with the spell and was very exited for me to use it. It is quite a large spell. While it allowed me to stay back. Unfortunately, it meant I could not try out my other new spell 'Counterspell". You have to be so close to use. After that the plan rather fell apart. A dragon is a formidable foe. So Sonzi was knocked out in, the air, sort of hovering unconscious. While Dax was bleeding out. So I spent some time taking out foes around them. Mean while the dragon was untouched, except for the damage I had managed to deal it. So for a long time, no one tried to take a necklace, no one else was taking on the drake. The fell beast was able to roam fairly freely, and the beast can fly. So once it even managed to knock me out. So after the opening moves the scale foe dictated our actions. Finally Sonzi and Clay reached the necklace. While i was incorrect in my assumption we only had to break the necklace. The necklace was still key, it was a bridge to where the dragon original mind reside. Sonzi description was too vague for me determine if the nature of the mental prison. Where they shunted to the astral plane? Plane of dreams. I suspect it was a purpose built pocket dimension. A place the Quari have some influence. Clay was unable to provide useful information. Lady says Clay is smarter than it looks. That is not saying much. The teeth do not help the cause. Sonzi fabricate some tale of heroics, which ended in the dragon awaking from control.
That ended the fight. We dissembled the giant sleep egg. I was unable to decentralize much. I was spent. Not my finest moment. I did save many dragon shards from it. With the Queen arrival, we office won! Yay us. We received rewards. I have a nice back up focus. It can never replace you BOB. You are my focus! It may let me teleport about a bit. I also sent a encrypted message to Mya, to stay there. We were also able to get the Wizard reinstated.
I sometimes have issues related to the rest of the club. The Autumn Queen offered Sonzi the role of the Autumn Knight. While a great honor, I explained we need to be careful in how we decile this honor. Faerie Queens do not brook disrespect in their own court. Instead, Moes accepted the role. I did not realize any of the club was actually considering this. I think I assumed they were read the same fairy tales I learned when I was a wee child. I did not think i needed to explain WHY accepting that "honor" was not a good idea. Well done is done. Except Moes has been ordered to kill Hoot, the formal knight. The rather dim owlin we meet earlier. Lady did think he had very nice feathers.
Session #6, Oh Wormey Wormey!
We have to kill a dragon, well, destroy a necklace. The Queen was quite vague on the details. We explored a bit, found Maya, still no idea why Dax is looking for her. So confused on that point. They also found the Princess of Autumn naked in a tub. Lady said they was an unnecessary amount of gawking and awkward fondling. Though Lady finds human mating practices tiresome. Mostly, I think she feels there is not enough yowling nor enough of aerial acrobatics. The Princess did say a bit a bout the dragon. For some reason we stopped exploring the castle, went outside with an owlin and Maya. The spell has multiple levels. One is the sleep spell, which affects the members of the autumn court. It does have a radius of effect. Unfortunelty, there is a second effect, a spell of forgetfulness that starts outside the shell of sleep. So just a small annulus of reason for member of the court. The olin champion says the hourglass tower is the Queen Wizard and time keeper.
It seems the Queen forbade the Wizard from interfering with the Sarlonans, banishing her to the hourglass tower. The Sarongs brought two small dragons. It seems that was a ruse, and the babies were grown. Or at least one was. We may have killed the actual young dragon. It is the adult dragon that is fueling the spell and forgetfulness spell. The Wizard said it fuels the "device". The dragon wear a necklace that serves as a connection to the device. Simple Bluetooth spell as it turns out. The wizard gave us a charm, a boon. I can cast slow. She allows Maya to stay with her. The Arch Wizard tells us they are hiding out in the lanai of the castle. A bit we did not bother to examine.
So we sneak into the lanai. The plan is for Zonzi jump on the dragon, Dax to slip the necklace off with thievery and Tyding to mage hand off the necklace. I think we needed more detail to the plan, but not my neck. We try and lure the outer guard off the lanai and arrive in shroud of stealth. Populace lets go a thunder wave. Fortunately, the rest of the inspired were busy maintaining the device. We sort of got a bit beat up, well the rest of the club. We continue to have issues with our tactics. Eventually we take out the outer guard. Due to their concentration on the device, we were able to take a breather. I have been preparing new spells, and continue to master old ones. One big push, I save myself on the last fight for this next one.
Session #5, In is Out
They have owl people. They live in a huge nest shaped castle. Yarrow, was pleasant enough. They are guards for the Autumn Queen.
We approached the Great Tree, which is the Queens Palace. No guards were posted. That should have been a warning. Inside was a young moonstone dragon. I stomped it pretty hard. I hit it with a web spell. Then a Rime Binding Ice, twice. I went through all my second level slots. Sadly Lady Furry Feather was dismissed via excess energy. I feel that, it upsets me. Sadly all I had was magic missile.
Then we decided to alternately wake owls up and sneak around. I might add the new burglar keeps yelling at the top of his voice when he is sneaking. Still a slight improvement over Fonzi. I requested a respite. To regain Lady and some mana to fuel more spells. Beyond the foyer was a möbius banquet hall. Impressive to my eyes, but perhaps a normal phenomenon in the feywild. While not my normal discipline, I am fascinated by the magics altering our dimensional reality. All the occupants are asleep and we could not rouse them. We found a planetarium of sorts, with what believe the be the queen. Waiting there were several inspired, perhaps posing as wait staff? It was a painful battle. Fonzi, Dax and Moes kept dropping. Our refusal to rest cost us resources. I had only a few spell I could cast. Finally, we were abel to make the inspired break and run. I was able to wake the Queen briefly. She healed us and told us that something was enchanting her kingdom, something had taken over the Moonstone dragon. I looked out the windows of the planetarium (windows?). I saw the escaped insured running to another moonstone dragon.
Session #4, Deeper, Harder
We continue into the forest. I feel rather hopeless. It is a long way to warm beds and warm tea. I have no idea how much further till we catch up with the undead, stitched paladin.
A pixie tried to steal BOB! She threatened to report me to its Queen! That may be an idle threat, but fairy Queens can be troublesome.
We were attacked in the night by Sarlonan mercenaries. Zonzi suspects their leader was an inspired. The Quari worry me. I prefer to see an entries brain, or at least it's base incantation.
We found the end of the trail. The lost airship. Bit of a dump. Been here for years. It looks like it been picked over , only scraps of books. The elemental helm was smashed. Worse, the thing was infested with tooth fairies! These loathsome asshats are why my ancestors left the feywild. It turns out these molar pirates left too. The region of the feywild parallel tot he Nightwood is held by the Autumn Queen. Auntie called her the Queen of Judgement and Consequences. I do have a good map to this location in BOB. The Bicuspid Bandits have set themselves up as a transfer point for illicit goods. For a fee in teeth they hold on to a fortune in stolen dragon shard crystals. I could not tell what the other party got in return. One end, receiving the crystals, are Sarlonans, perhaps the ones we dispatched. The other are our hafling friends in Karth.
We also meet a Mr Dax. A half elf lost in the forest. The Canine Cutthroats took him in, I think they were trying to talk him out of his teeth. His sister was taken into the feywild by a saytar and sold to the Queen. i did manage to trick the tooth fairies into to telling us the form of the key we needed to get into the feywild, a magic acorn. A furious bout of gambling and dentistry the rest of the won several acorns. They think themselves victorious.
A very determined zombie came out of the forest and attached me. It was after the doll. The creature knocked me to the ground unconscious almost immediately. It then took the doll. Once i was awakened i washable to finally trap in a web and we were able to dispatch it. Gam gam suspects it is a revenant, the lost paladin? So what does the doll want then? is it an ally of the paladin, of us? We found the paladins corpse. What does the doll or revenant want? Cassie want us to go south now.
We found anther gateway to the feywild. This time we went in. I tried to make a map, but it was a hopeless maze. Everything Auntie fanny has told me i suspect my attempt at a map is worthless. We found an exit, there is a great tree and a tower int he distance. This may be my last entry. If I die will my entrees in BOB be lost? Like tears in the rain?
Session #3, Hi Ho!
We returned to the Different Dog to rest up from our days exploits. We start fresh with foray to the cemetery. The spot where the Emo Paladin is still there, they never cleaned off the spot of immolation. So untidy, so I clean up. This caused some concern. Apparently stitched have complex and arbitrary funerary rites. We head for the cemetery chapel and learn that the Arch Mage payed for the mausoleum. The chapel has extensive records, but no method of cataloging them. I offered to give a presentation on the types and benefits of a catalog is. The acolyte at the time seemed a kindred soul. We return to the mausoleum, there is a stage doll that moves when we are not looking. The paladin body is gone. I suspect it moved of its own accord. This is Karnath, there is no rest for the dead. Do they even ward the cemeteries here anymore?! I had to try and explain the social-economic realties of Karnathi economy. The doll points to the north east. We follow then realize the path leads into the Nightwood.
On my insistence we gather more gear. There was complaints about the delay, but most were unprepared for a venture into the forest. We got fairly lost. We encountered goblins, awaken plants (ugh!), but did meet some nice adventures. I managed to purchase access to a spell. Huzzah! Funds are low now. With some help I have a decent map of this portion of the forest.
The Nightwood is entangled with the feywild. We found a portal, an old spilt oak. We tried to enter, but we lacked a key to activate the portal.
Populace is difficult to work with. I will admit to not understanding funerary rites of the stitched. The slapping seems sizisum. I was hoping for less racism from such a new race, but same old same old with folks outside of Zilagro. Still I suspect much of there issue is the the gestalt nature of their minds. Imagine never being of one mind on anything. It is hard to correct them. They assume if an idea that does not originate from one of their minds facets it is wrong. I wonder if the stitched have some sort of consensus buffer? Perhaps some weighted voting scheme? I am concerned there will be issues when we catch up with the stitched zombie paladin. The pattern so far is we defeated the undead version, then the soul is sets free. If cleaning a bit of carbon is offensive, what happens when I electrocute implode the reanimated stitched to dead dead?
Zonzi does not have a dead twin named Yonzi. Maybe he is a cousin. He has no spirit attached to him, No idea why he still reeks of fish. Lady Furry Feathers has given up on him giving her a fish. However, she heard he has bacon. No idea why Fonzi thinks I eat vegan bacon. Crazy Sarlonan gets a free meal and he asks for a continental breakfast. Melba toast and jam is too breakfast.
Session #2, I don't like poltergeists.
We started our investigations at the Different Dog, after our morning cuppa. I drew up my my mystic cat eyes on my eyelids. All mystical and no one commented. I checked with BOB the night before, BOB had nothing to add. Unfortunately, I mainly took post mortem communication as a way to meet some cute goths. Now I am in Karnath, everyone is goth and every grandma is a Siouxsie and the Banshees fan. Granted Siouxsie makes undeath look good! So I put my faith in Lady Furry Feathers. She can catch a glance of the spirit that haunts the stage.
I sit atop a table and open my third and fourth eyes and sent Lady to the stage. She really is a diva, but her feathers are majestic! Suddenly, a malignant spirt arose out the the stage, the spirt slammed into poor Lady Furry feather and popped her! Devastated, I nearly did not notice the will o wisps coming into our flanks. It took some heroic efforts to down the poltergeist. Finally, I struck him down with a witch bolt. We heard a lute playing once victory was secured, a ghostly gnome was the source. A bard named Durthmeck Seamfinder, bards are worse divas than Lady! Obsessed with not being forgotten, I scoured his name in the dressing room. Preserving it for all time! Or until the room is re-painted. He told us of the tale of how is group was betrayed and murdered. Our reward is a stay for a night and a large breakfast. Yonzi wanted congenital breakfast. Bah! we deserve more than toast! Rested i summon lady Furry Feathers back and we head off.
We head to the site of Thamior Floshem death. A warehouse where he fell. The place he fell was 40 ft up, so Yonzi goes climbing. Lady Furry Feathers can fly top there. however talented she is, she is not a thief. Some things require hands. I tried explain this to Fonzi, especially that he should check for traps, when he set off a trap. He did not grab the quill and ink , even after I asked nicely. Lady grabs the quill in her delicate mouth. A nice hawk feather with a red and gold braiding . We also have some letters about the brotherhood, they were locating stolen kyber crystals that were in the area. Wonzi made a mess of things, and we leave the area, I wanted to do a proper diagraming with sketches, push pins and red yarn. I had to settle on drawing diagram on the cobble stones. It is clear to me that the rest of the kyber crystals are on the downed airship Pride of Stormhold.
I feel it is important to flushing out our investigations of the death of the Black Mug Brotherhood. So we head to Dundragon Home, an orphanage named after Morn Dundragon. The third victim. His zombie corse patrols the school grounds. We get there and there are two obliterated zombies. (saying zombies are dead seems inaccurate). Something has taken the children. We rush in like fools. Lady hangs back, I don't blame her. Two animated suits of armor and what I suspect is a possessed child has turned the children into screaming swarms. Well MORE ominous than primal screaming swarms of usual children. It was hell! I ran out of spells, ANOTHER damn poltergeist! Lady spotted him, thankfully she stayed outside out of harms way. The poltergeist controlled the two animated suits and an annoying large child. We won in the end. Populace has commitment issues. Or maybe dislikes orphans.
I am worried about me becoming a seer. I had two critical insights, I dismissed them as a joke at the time. Then they immediately came true. I am all for mystical trappings of the opening my other eyes. Seerhood would be a distraction from my goals.
Session #1 Fynn meets his henchmen
July 4th, 1020
So we saw a trio of handlings running from a Idozol "Mist tiger" banner men. A helmed horror and two undead karnanth creations. It was touch and go for Zonzi and few others. They are not good at the idea of disengaging. I managed to save Prosperia, a handling thief. Hiding the thief in my magic pillow fort. Sadly, she did not steal a spell book, or scrolls. She did steal a bunch of dragon shards. I tried to conscience Tydings to try and talk her into giving us a cut. Instead we got a potion of healing.
We also got a favor for work from Pansy, Prosperia friend. So name dropping Pansy, we ask the bartender of the Different Dog. I learned that the stage is indeed haunted. A spirit lives under the stage. Gam Gam confirmed it is haunted. The bartender offered us rooms if we exercorize the stage. Zonzi managed to cut our period of performance to 5 days.
Session Zero, what a bunch of mooks
Fynn meet Moes, a very nice Firbog in the forest in Karnath. Fynn was in the area searching for artifacts from the tower of twelve. He suspected Moes had a Caneith tome. So Fynn being the gnomish he is, bargained with Moes for Fynn to provide some divination help in Moes searching for Ganith something, some Kalishar. The Kalishar took some totem important to Moes. Fynn feels bad he has not paid this debt back yet.
Fynn meet Zonzi the Broken, a visiting Sarlonan. As both were new to Karnath, Fynn invited him to the Rebirth ceremony. Zonzi never showed up. Fynn was going to share his past regrets with Zonzi as part of the ceremony. Fynn feels very let down.
