Headliner

A headliner is a performer who is successful enough to have a regional name for themselves.

• Investment: 20% of the gold your character has upon reaching Tier 2.
• Lifestyle: Wealthy
• Skill: Performance
• Proficiency: Any language, a musical instrument or disguise kit

Special Ability: Targeted Composition. Your fame as a performer has grown to a point where people have heard of you beyond the places where you have performed. From time to time you hear folk singing variations on your original music, or giving their own versions of orations you have given.
When you set out to create a song, performance, or other composition or performance that is designed to shift the general public attitude in the community about an issue, you can make a performance check with a DC set by the DM based on the difficulty of the topic and social forces arrayed against it. The time required to compose and perform the composition — and for it to have had enough time to have an effect — is determined by the DM, as well as any expenses that you incur while preparing the composition, depending upon the complexity of the message and the size of the community.

• On a success, the general attitude in the community shifts one step, and you can't use this ability again for thirty days.
• On a failure, the public attitude does not change, but the use of the ability is not expended, although future checks in the same community will become more and more difficult.
• Whether or not the attempt succeeds, make a Rival check as you would for downtime to see if your crew's efforts to support you have run afoul of a powerful rival.
