Horrid Animals
Horrid animals can be any animal native to Eberron that has been magically bred for battle or has evolved within a particularly hostile environment. While it is not unheard of for a horrid animal to naturally develop in the wild, it is far more commonly a combination of evolution and magic - a magebred species that has escaped back into the wild and began inter-breeding, for example - that creates this dangerous, ill-tempered variety of beast.
Horrid animals are stronger and faster than their mundane counterparts, not to mention much, much meaner (like wasps irl, they are always Neutral Evil). They tend to have protective bone plates and attack with great speed and ferocity (higher AC and an additional attack). Horrid animals are resistant to acid and poison and almost always inflict additional damage of one of these types with one of their attacks. Fortunately, in addition to being mean horrid animals are violently territorial. It is extremely rare to ever encounter more than one or two at a time.
