Session 13: NOT the Ring of Fire
General Summary
The party head to meet Esme Cleves, bartender at The Emerald Cask in Lower Dura. She tells them of a Valenari elf attacking innocent civilians. She points them toward Ladore Runelenrin, a recent victim of the attacks staying at a Jorasco healing house to recover. Esme gets very quiet and standoffish as soon as The Burning Ring is brought up directly.
Ladore is friendly and in good spirits. He tells the party the attack felt like multiple people- it was very fast and very dark. His opponent appeared in front of him, bowed formally, then made it clear he was about to attack. After a thorough beating Ladore was on the ground and the elf sighed in what seemed to be disappointment. Ladore was not robbed, nor was he struck after it was clear he had been defeated. He seems to be okay now. He, too, clammed up as soon as The Burning Ring was brought up by name.
After leaving House Jorasco, the party heads to a contact of Celosia 's who can help them find the location of the next fight. However, they are waylaid by local guards and what appeared to be members of The Daask. The guards take them back to their station where they explain in no uncertain terms The Burning Ring is to be kept quiet for everyone's sake. It appears to be a happy arrangement for all. Then, the orc comes in, and gives them directions and the password for the fight that evening.
Ripper sets up alarms on the rooftops surrounding the fight location, with guidance from Toox . The others collect money and bet on the fights, while Ripper sells... refreshments. :-)
During the final bout one of the alarms goes off, alerting Ripper someone is on the roof- likely the Valenari they're looking for. The party get in location to confront the enemy...
