Session 14: Practical Honor
General Summary
The party goes outside to find the culprit. However, despite the Alarm spells going off, the attacker remains hidden. Using what Ripper discovers to be Minor Illusion, the attacker (Xael Galanodel) tells the party he is searching for worthy opponent, and whether or not they might be one. Ice says that he is, and agrees to fight one on one. Xael agrees. When he appears behind Ice, however, the party attacks him. He is captured, magically Held, tied up, and delivered to the Watch. The Watch take him, with members of The Daask watching from a nearby rooftop. In a brief chat with Toox , they make it clear handing Xael to the Watch is the same as handing Xael to them.
For his part, Xael makes it clear he feels the party has no honor, and will make sure all of Valenar knows of it. They will know no peace from his people. The party does not seem overly concerned.
Following the delivery, the group enjoy the Lower Menthis nightlife. Ripper sees a bad play, Ice almost follows a crazy person home, and Celosia discovers a couple of lower level members of The Boromar Clan , who share the organization appears to be intentionally causing problems for themselves, then celebrating when they spend even more resources cleaning it up. Toox was the only one to have a truly good night/morning/early afternoon.
The next morning the party meets at The Cracked Mirror and compares notes. Breeza is interested in Celosia's news regarding the Boromar; she has heard similar stories. There is trouble in that House. She also tells them Xael escaped shortly after they dropped him off, but that won't affect payment. The group then receives a letter from Xael left for them. It claims they are cowards with no honor. He claims he is dedicating himself to ensuring they will find no peace or succor amongst Valenari elves.
With nothing further to be done, the party considers their next options. Breeza will check for additional work offerings from The Tyrants , and encourages them to discover what else they can on their own.
