Belaluur in Ja’Shaarat

Written by Belaluur's player   The last time Belaluur visited Ja’Shaarat (“Bright Blade” in goblin) was to see her older brothers off in conscription to the war against the Daelkyr. The great city was said to be a master of dar engineering. It was heavily fortified and believed to be able to withstand any siege. The great underground tunnels had become a refuge for the dar of the surrounding areas that had been decimated by the daelkyr forces.   Ja’Shaarat also had the best cuisine in the whole Empire. While mostly rationed to the military, high quality cuts of fish and meat were still found in the markets along the coast. Belaluur’s favorite stall was Oktar’s Skewers. She’d had three skewers before her mother grabbed her hand and pulled her away.   “Say goodbye to your brothers, Bela dear. They have shown great muut for our family. Aren’t you happy for them?”   “Yes, nunu.” Belaluur sighed, knowing her only way to show muut was to be married off and to make babies who’d grow up to be conscripted into the war like her brothers.   Belaluur was too young to remember her brother’s faces. Doruk, Fethi, Grung, and Hagla all left for the war and never returned. She did remember the skewers, though. She’d managed to convince her mother to let her have two more before they journeyed home.
