House Phiarlan, marked by the Mark of Shadow, are the masters of entertainment in Eberron. They are primarily based in Aundair, Breland, and Thrane. Their bards, actors, artists, acrobats and performers are renowned for their captivating stories and mesmerizing talents. But rumors claim that beneath the dazzling facade lies a network of spies and informants. They gather secrets through their travels, using their performances as a cover. Their loyalty can be swayed by the highest bidder, making them valuable sources of information – for a price.
The Shadow Schism in 972 YK during the Last War saw the formation of House Thuranni out of House Phiarlan who moved East to the Lazaar principalities.
House Phiarlan has no rank structure to speak of as most of it's member's enage in a specific entertainment profession or another. In the classic style of all entertainers those that are most well known hold the most power and, if the rumors are to be believed, stand alongside those who have vanished from the public eye to pull the strings of society.
