Session 22: Into the Cogs Report

General Summary

We start with the group gathered back at HQ in the main office. They share their plan for the adventure to come, and Twig shares the information he gathered during his solo (private IC chat) venture for reasearch. He gives a brief history of the COGS, and it's industrial, underground heated nature and the risk of encountering elementals, especially mephits. Fire is also a likely issue, given the lava lake used below. Set, they all head to the station and go to Sharn.
They meet Mme Pomerleau in Tavick's landing and find the older woman (60s) set and eager to go. She escorts the group to their destination via a skycoach, despite Twig's growing unease from the city. They head down to the COGS' entry point and already, feel the heat from below. There, they nearly get pick pocketed, but Astara spots it and calls it out, and the perpetrator just abandons the pick and walks away. They travel the deep roads until the industries change to more and ruins, and find their spot. Mme Pomerleau leaves them to their mission, and they wait out passing by rust monsters. Passage safe, they head in, with Twig scouting ahead.
Inside, they note the darkness and Eavaan turns to her lantern. Twig scouts ahead and spots a few spiders, but Astara grows eager and curious and goes on ahead, barging in a door. This place seaming more of a buried house in disrepair, they pass through webbing (Astara gets bitten) and arrive in a stinky bedroom. Smoke mephits gang up on them and they dispatch of them, but not without a few marks and bruises. A bit of loot later, they find an old broken down kitchen.. and more mephits! This time, mud and magma. Taken some more damage, they successfully dispatch the elementals and bunk down for a short rest.
