The Mockery

Called by many names among its followers, The Mockery stands for nothing more than sowing dread amongst its enemies and allies alike. Treachery and evil are the constants of its worship. From soldiers and assassins to poisoners and torturers, The Mockery draws those of the most abject morality into its fold.
Temples to The Mockery by necessity are hidden most often in far flung locales, though several are rumored to be located within the depths of the major cities like Sharn. Secretive to the point of death, worshippers come from all walks of life though mostly from professions that give them easy access to death and torture like soldiers or inquisitors.
Several cults are rumored to be linked to The Mockery, most notably the Three Faces of War, a cult that worships the Sovereigns of War—including the Mockery, whom they call Dol Azur. Followers of this foul faith say that the battlefield holds a place for all of these gods, explicitly embracing a deity they acknowledge as the patron of treachery and terror! This cult apparently began in the Karrnathi military but spread across the Five Nations during the Last War. So next time you’re talking to a Brelish soldier, remember that they might be a devotee of The Mockery!
