Giant Fire Beetle
Giant Fire Beetles are large insects normally standing at around 2-2.5 feet tall. They are known for their luminous glands located above each eye and on the abdomen, which glow a firey red color.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Giant Fire Beetles have 6 legs attached to a bulbous round body. Their thorax is by far the largest part of their body, which is covered with a hard bronze-colored shell. On their face are a pair of strong mandibles and two beady eyes, under which two of the luminary glands are located. The third luminary gland is located on the underside of the abdomen.
Ecology and Habitats
Giant Fire Beetles commonly nest in caves in forests. Occasionally, the beetle will wander too far into its cave and get lost, living in the caverns as long a food remains.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Giant Fire Beetles are omnivorous.
