The enigmatic figure of Lord Edgar Vanthorne emerges from the shadows. He is known to be a studious and serious individual, a man who is not known for smiling or taking a joke. A collector of rare artifacts, arcane knowledge, and dying practices; he is rumored to possess a library hidden within the depths of his manor, housing volumes of forbidden lore and ancient grimoires. Scholars and seekers of forbidden knowledge flock to his door, seeking his patronage and risking their very souls for the tantalizing whispers of forgotten secrets. Before they arose he was already a collector of history and magic, and since the rebellion his effects have only doubled down.  
He is well known for hiring adventurers to go out into the valley to uncover strange and magical artifacts to add to his collection, and is known for paying incredibly well.
