The Grand Conjunction stands as a pivotal event in the history of the Land of Mists, known also as the Great Upheaval due to its profound and far-reaching consequences. Foreseen by the prophetic dukkar Hyskosa and set into motion by the manipulative schemes of Azalin , this cataclysmic event shook the very foundations of the Demiplane of Dread. During the Grand Conjunction, the boundaries between the domains of Ravenloft were shattered, and the Misty Border itself became permeable, allowing darklords and other malevolent forces to spill forth into the Material Plane. It was a time of chaos and upheaval as the barriers that had long separated these realms were breached, and the inhabitants of Ravenloft found themselves thrust into unfamiliar territory.   However, Azalin's hubris and impatience ultimately proved to be his undoing. His haste in attempting to manipulate the events of the Grand Conjunction led his minions to unwittingly fulfill the final two couplets of Hyskosa's Hexad prophecy. This triggered the collapse of the Conjunction and the swift reformation of the domains, drawing back in their former prisoners and restoring the shattered boundaries.   The aftermath of the Grand Conjunction was marked by profound changes to the landscape of Ravenloft. Several domains merged or emerged in entirely different geographical locations, reshaping the very fabric of the Demiplane of Dread. The consequences of this event continue to reverberate throughout Ravenloft, serving as a stark reminder of the fragility of its boundaries and the enduring power of prophecy and manipulation within the land of eternal gloom.
