Amantia

Amantia lies on the eastern coast of Valorden and is its second largest city in terms of population and wealth after Dimond. It is an important port city for the kingdom and has the most impressive harbor in all of Valorden with a port complex, a large commercial center, long stretches of shipyards and workshops, a number of warehouses and a world-famous bazaar which merchants all over the world frequent. The spice corner in particular attracts many visitors each day and is even known to prompt those rich enough to undergo long journeys to see it. The upper part of the city, which is removed from the port, is mainly for residences. Many rich merchants and financiers have second households in Amantia due to the amount of time they spent in the city. The quarter reserved for their villas lies upon the cliff and provides fanstastical views over the ocean, for the right price. It is fiercly protected by the Amantian city-guard on the non-cliff side and entrance is only permitted with permissions slips from officials or by having the right contacts. Without a permission slip weapons are strictly prohibited in the quarter and a resident will need to pick the visitor up at the guardspost. Amantia also houses many entertainment venues such as theaters and large taverns and is considered a stepping stone towards other nations and bigger stages for every entertainer in Valorden.
Further, Amantia is the home of one of the most beautiful castles on the continent, easily rivaling the castles in the Alesian Empire. Brightshore Keep is an architectural marvel with its white stone walls. Likely it has been built to be well visible at night and high enough on the cliffs to have warning light be seen from afar.
