On the Trail of the Blue Star Fire
Six months ago, a mysterious blue flame was seen streaking across Echospace. It moved from a point of unknown origin and its terminus is also unknown. Following this, the Dunamic Republic kept an eye out for any future signs of this mysterious blue flame, and in scanning the Astral Veil they had spotted changes in constellation Persona, The Lady’s Glyph. The dimming of the stars in the constellation has been classified and any petitioners who bring this to the Republic’s attention are assured that this is a natural phenomena that they have been assured happens on occasion.
A week ago, the blue flame was spotted moving from the Astral Veil on a trajectory that seemed to be heading for The Mindfield (a restricted zone comprising a huge asteroid belt). Its speed was at least twice that of the fastest available spelljammers, and so it was not possible to chase it. Luckily, the Prima Diana was within range of its trajectory and was immediately dispatched to locate the point of impact.
Further to the task of locating the point of impact, the ship was also tasked with investigating the blue flame, calming any local nerves (whilst maintaining the prime directive) and retrieving whatever caused the blue flame - be it in samples of what remains or in the whole.
