'Neath Day
'Neath Day is a festival day celebrated within the city of Averum, occurring predominantly within the Ward Below and the Gateway Below. 'Neath Day was first celebrated on Flamerule 30, 1249 DC by a collaboration of gnomes holding a 'contest of invention' between worshippers of the gods Gond and Nebelun, originally known amongst the gnomish community of Averum as "The Contest of the True Inventor." The competition remained a niche aspect of gnomish culture in Averum, though increasing interest in the affair would see 'Neath Day become a staple of Averi festival days (including the adoption of a new name), despite not being formally recognised by the city government.
Due to the days proximity to Midsummer, many citizens of Averum treat the pair of days as a prolonged celebration, especially during years where Shieldmeet also occurs.
