Association of Fine Stoneworkers

The Association of Fine Stoneworkers is a crafting guild of stoneworkers and masons based in Averum.

Structure

Members frequently come from the areas around the Orikste and Seper Mountain Ranges, with many of the others hailing from Rashmi states of Skortenia. It is not uncommon to see exiled dwarfs or those forces from their homes to become members of the guild and are highly sought after during recruiting. Members pay a joining fee of 40 gold and a further 25 gold in annual dues.
The City of Averum holds the association on retainer to maintain the roads of the city. Every tenday a schedule of the areas for work is given to the guild. Members then often discuss which days they are available to work. Anyone working on one of these sites receives 5 gold.

Positions in the Guild

Nearly all members of the guild are practicing stoneworkers or masons to some degree, though two select roles are called upon to operate in a slightly more broad fashion.

• Head of the Association of Fine Stoneworkers and Masons - The designated head of the guild and its representative on all matters when dealing with the Pouchers. The head is called upon to resolve disputes between members and keep a balance on workflow among the guilds members.
• Guildsman - Guildsman frequently work as stoneworkers or masons while also being tasked with finding and recruiting potential members into the guild itself. They receive a small monthly fee of 10 gold for their assistance.

Culture

Members of the guild wore deep grey tunics with a black chisel on one arm and black hammer on the other. A light green cap with a black feather is also worn.
The guild hold themselves to a high standard of work, priding themselves on their accurate, though sometimes slow ability to make stone structures, roads and statues. One long-standing belief about the guild is that their creations are built to stand for incredibly long periods. Due to Averum being located on an island, guild members often charge fees much higher than seen on the mainland, though this is only done to cover purchasing costs.

The guild seeks to protect the rights of Averum many stoneworkers, masons and those others that frequently operate with stone throughout their profession.
