Buffalo
One of the largest territories in Boncly, in the south-eastern pocket of the nation, Buffalo and it's surrounding territory is an arid desert that seems dead, until one looks beneath the ground to find a wealth of life and prosperity in the form of the Boncly Mine, full of Gems and Ores by the hundreds.
Demographics
Despite the saturation of Humans and Human-derived races, Buffalo is heavily Dwarven as well, with larger-than-average populations of Goblinoids and Halflings as well.
Government
The government of Buffalo comes down to two large groups, the Badland population and the Mine population. Most of the time, those two halves don't come into conflict in regards to legislation and legal matters, but occasionally if a law seems to favor the safety and well-being of those working in the mines rather than above ground, it requires more deliberation.
Defences
Buffalo has many defenses in the main city and the mine, including walls, modern turrets, and arcane sensors, with constant patrols along the maintained roads to defend against thieves who attack shipments and/or workers.
Industry & Trade
Mining and Ore Processing are the most vital industries within Buffalo, with Mechanical Engineering quickly becoming a strong 3rd place in recent years. Many are wondering, with Mayor Treloar's 2nd term coming to an end, if the next mayor will focus on any of these industries.
Infrastructure
Along with the heavy mining operations, due to most of the Boncly Mine being located within Buffalo territory, the Badlands above ground have the main Ore Processing Plants within Boncly, smelting and getting the ore mined ready to use in the rest of the world, with most of it being shipped to Calamity for weapons production. Due to that, mechanical inventions are on the rise within Buffalo, due to many local minds putting the mass amount of different metals and minerals to good use.
Assets
The Boncly Mine is Buffalo's greatest asset, as it holds seemingly regeneration veins of Ore, and occasionally Gems. As this is the case, the mine has not been expanded too much outside of the massive gash that opened up in 808 AC, but discussions are in place to alter that.
Guilds and Factions
Along with The Miner Union, The Processers Union, and various other groups and industry representatives, far to the west of the territory in the Southern Folded Mountains, the Mercenary Guild, Mistress Peripat, makes their home base.
History
Buffalo has always been filled with people, even before the ground opened up around 200 years ago to reveal the expansive mine, and as it's been such a populated and cornerstone location in Boncly, it was one of the first official territories alongside the capital of Ranger and the key town of Wyatt.
Tourism
Buffalo doesn't get much in the way of tourism, as it's mainly an industry town without many landmarks. However, those who are interested in Mechanics come to the town for the latest innovations, or those interested in Stones and Mining flock as well. Some people enjoy the freedom outside of the main city in the wide badlands, or the picturesque mountains, but for the most part anyone new to the town is there to stay.
Architecture
Metal and Stone have made the way for the buildings above ground in Buffalo, strong and sturdy, and even within the mines many long-time families and buisness' formed into the sides of the mineshaft, assisted by the Dwarven inhabitants.
