The State of Valkana - Late Üksteist 1058 FT

The world is in flux. Recent attacks by saurian groups have left the population feeling betrayed and confused. Some are turning against their scaled neighbors, people they used to share meals with, out of fear of the unknown.   In Nestora, rumors spread of an army, the Crimson Claw, led by some ancient evil named Tsashath. At first these were disregarded as drunken ravings, but with the attacks by saurian hands in all major cities, the story has some credence. There are those who speak of a military camp in the mountains above the Rift, but those rumors are largely unfounded.   In Vorakis, the damage from these attacks has brought the pervasive racism to the forefront, causing the city's officials to move all scaled people to the outskirts for fear of the populace's lives, now they live in a shanty town. Some fight on their behalf, crying for the public to accept them, but they are drowned out by angry and fearful yells.   In Karros, the economy has affected these largely peaceful people. No one will house or do business with one of their kind. Anyone bearing resemblance to a saurian, even dragonborn, are shunted from their jobs, homes and forced to wander. Some nearby towns, those unaffected by these events, have taken these refugees in, but not every one enjoys the influx of new mouths to feed. The stress of this is putting even the most peaceful of farm folk on edge.   In Kecksis, we see that there are plots shifting about in the upper echelons of society. Those with power take subtle actions for greater gains, but to what end? Whatever the winning party intends, it will have lasting and potentially damaging effects for a once glorious city.   Our heroes stand on the edge of a victory. A disaster prevented, they feel as heroes might, but there are so many things left undone. For Doc, he realizes he must find Kevdeyr and these two acolytes, but has no idea where to start. Valla, with her mission, has little lead to go on but with fresh powers might be able to access something new. Pau, recently granted the graces of his god, must attend to his tasks, for what purpose? Perhaps just some elaborate game, but with gods you can never be sure. Vik finds his father recently betrothed, soon to be married to some strange foreigner with magics beyond anything plied against his illness. Akta discovers news about her brother, a long-lost sibling that she has searched for endlessly. Arkis, approached by a shadow, is asked to lead a country, and in doing so, potentially save the strongest population his species can boast. However, this will return him into the grasping arms of his family who he has avoided above all else.   They wake the morning after a celebration, the pressures of the world upon the League, spurring them to stride farther than they have before.
