Aether Theology

AEther Theology, sometimes called AEther Theory, is the science of AEther. It’s a field nested in natural sciences next to physics and chemistry and predominantly deals with how to utilize and classify AEther in its many forms as well as understanding the laws of AEther holding the world as we know it together. AEther as a substance doesn’t seem to follow the laws of chemistry and physics necessarily as it’s a Sentient Material, so it demands its own sub-branch of scientific research. It’s a vast field and very popular in the Crimson Empire’s and the Alliance’s academic institutions. AEther is many things; the stuff that holds the Outer Wolrds together, one hell of a catalyst for almost anything that exists in the Meta Realm, and quite possibly the reason we all still exist. Or is it vice-versa? Fact is, AEther doesn’t always play by the rules and is the most unpredictable thing in existence while making perfect sense in its own right. Thus, you cannot study AEther reliably, at least not without having a little faith, philosophy and chaos in your theories. And this is why the science dealing with revealing its secrets is usually referred to as AEther Theology rather than Theory.
AEther Theology as a subject in higher education and military training for higher ranking tasks and research is subdivided into seven fields; namely

• Raw Dynamics & Energy Behavior
A field dealing with AEther’s catalyst abilities; mostly to refine it for better use as fuel, energy source and in weapons.

• Resonance Classification in the context of Spectral Science
• AEther comes in seven Resonances which define the world in its core structure, and the how, why and when of this fascinating fact is the core subject of this course.

• Aethernautics Engineering
How to build AEther-powered objects, retain and operate AEther-based objects, the crafting of artifacts and any kind of technical feasibility of AEther as a material is explored in this field of practical research. Note: Students must qualify for field trips to the Outer Worlds. It is recommended to sign up early for the physical examination and tests.

• Alchemistic Research and Development
AEther as a substance for consumption or application to the body and soul is the main focus of this course.

• Soul Reading & Exorcism
All Souls are made of AEther. So is all AEther made of Souls? Not a trick question. Learn to study the immortal soul both as a concept and an empirical thing in this field of AEther Theology. Practical Exorcism can be chosen as a summer block seminar. The Faculty advises to sign up early as there is only a limited quantity of slots available and the activity has proven to be quite popular in recent years.

• AEther Architecture & Refinery
Study AEther structure, natural behavior and effects on the world and how to contain, maintain and handle AEther as both a common phenomenon and a material are the goals of this field.

• Cultural-, Historical- and Medial Studies
As AEther is in all things it has influenced everyone and everything. This is a field of research dedicated to the sociological shades of AEther, how other cultures handle and understand it. AEther and its flow can be interpreted and understood in a larger context, and this course is teaching the necessary language to read and understand AEther. Note: Includes the occasional exposure to AEther. AEther Drugs are being provided by the field institute.

Courses like these can be taken at major universities operating under the umbrella of the Ordo Scientifica in Moscwa and Kiy as well as at the Militaria Informa Royal Academy of the Holy Thirteen in Roma Aeterna. In the Scarred Lands, only the City State of Praha offers faculties advanced enough to study the field of AEther Theology. The only other faction to be known to make advances in the field are Agrippa's Alchemists; although you have to be a member of this enigmatic cult of healers to participate in any research or buy the knowledge off their hands, which is costly.
Due to the awakened nature of this subject matter it goes without saying that only Sinners and under some restrictions, Owls, can even attempt to unravel the science behind this enigmatic material.
