Rus

Rus is a common dialect among Alliance territory; especially in the Western regions of the nation. It was the original language of the native tribes in that area, but was removed from public schooling after annexation and efforts where made to replace it with Ally Tongue. There are still a couple of thousand native speakers, though, and many children are still learning their first words in Rus until they enter school and start adapting to Ally Tongue as the municipal language of the territory.

Phonology

It's a round and affluent language, soft-spoken vowels but hard consonants. Native speakers are known to be able to spit on the ground after every second word without having to interrupt the flow of a sentence.

Morphology

Rus embraces crude and simple grammar, relying heavily on word conjugations and suffixes to express context, and a strongly established variety of regional swearwords; a vast agricultural vocabulary and 16 different words for potato schnaps.
