Eloise was born wealthy and had most everything she wanted, so when she left north on urgent and mysterious business, no one was sure what to make of it. Indeed, after her return, with rumors about the Tower of El'va following, she was no less easy to understand. She has since moved with her second husband, daughter, and lover. No one is sure where, just that is was very shortly before the Second Slavery War broke out.Mental characteristics
Personal history
She met Lilibeth, her girlfriend through an affair, when she was married to her first husband, Reginald. Lilibeth was a painter that Reginald hired to do a portrait of Eloise, and they fell in love. Eloise kept finding excuses to have her around (portraits of Reginald, pets, scenery etc) and they started dating. After her first husband vanished and Eloise moved in with her second husband, Theodore, she paid to have Lilibeth moved into a house on the back of their property under the guise of sponsoring her art apprentice-ship.
The secret surrounding Reginald’s death/disappearance is that he was assassinated in his sleep by an unknown assailant. Eloise thinks that the assassin was sent by one of Reginald’s siblings (one younger brother, one older sister) in order to gain his fortune. Eloise and her daughter were supposed to have been killed as well, but Eloise happened to be in the garden with both Lilibeth and Charlotte when this happened. Upon finding out about her husband’s death, Eloise hired people to cover it up and sent her daughter away to live with a distant relative in fear that the assassin would come back. She quickly married the duke, Theodore, in order to gain protection, and kept Lilibeth close. She writes to Charlotte every week to make sure she doesn’t forget her mother, and has hired (unsuccessfully) detectives to find the killer. She has no way of knowing if the letters ever reach Charlotte, as she is still too young to write back (4 years old).
She’s famous in her city for her husband’s and daughter’s disappearance. They were married for 4 years when one morning the two of them (Reginald and Charlotte) vanished seemingly out of thin air, and no trace of them could be found. They were both presumed dead, and Eloise become a very wealthy widow considering Reginald was an Earl. The scandal grew when she married her second husband Theodore, a duke, a year later. Keeping around Lilibeth did not help, and there has been some speculation around the two of them.
