Court of Herubake

Court of Herubake. For the judgement of guilt and for the punishment. If guilt is admitted a standard punishment is issued for the crime, but if it is not then if found guilty, the crime doer is subject to special punishment. There is a list of exact punishments for crimes.   The Court system is similar to that of real world America, with one large difference: the jury is not public, it is the actual job of the jury members to do what they do. There is a pool of on-call jury members to judge each case who are selected from randomly, with the obvious exemption of friends and family of those related to the case (though they way they are eliminated from being on the jury is purely honour based, one can lie and say they are not a friend of the person on trial and get on the jury).

Short List of Crimes & Punishments

Please note attempts to do these crimes are the same as doing the crimes in the eyes of the court.   Theft: repay the wronged double what you stole OR 10 years in prison if you can't repay and a promise to pay in the future   Murder: 50,000 sen to each family member and a year in prison (does not count as murder if there was a challenge issued)   Serial Killings (3 or more murders): Death   Rape: 25,000 sen in reparations   Fraud: repay the wronged double what was lost, 20 years in prison   Assault: all medical fees of the assaulted, 25,000 sen in reparations, 1 month is prison   Accessory to crime: Half the penalty of the main culprit, death is still death   Lying under Oath: 30 years in prison   Arson: Death   Destruction of Property: double the cost in reparations, 1 month in prison
