Kizumachi Forest
Beautiful and mysterious, the massive Kizumachi Forest lies in wait for all those who wish to explore or get lost in the wilderness. Much can be hidden in the trees, but in turn much is found by those who seek it out, and if you wish to go as well you will surely find something of interest deep within the woods. But be warned, there are warlike goblinoids crawling through the forest and without proper protection from them and the forest's many other dangers you may never return. Be careful, but do not let that stop you.A grandfather offering his granddaughter advice on exploring when she is older
Geography
Kizumachi Forest is located to the East and South of Misuto Lake and takes up a massive ~30% of the landmass of the mainland. It is broadly subdivided into the North, West, and East as each of these regions sports moderately different flora and fauna as well as vastly different political setups for each. North is them more bright and magical third, being the home of elves and treants along with several magical creatures. West is the home of the goblinoids and is possibly the most dangerous part of the forest due to their sheer prevalence. East is the semi-tropical home of lizardfolk, and is the territory over which the Edo Empire has the most control, partially due to the placement of Okinaga right next to the border. It is for the most part a hill forest with no real mountains but enough height variation to call it hilly. The trees are not too dense in most places, and there is little need to travel using specific paths for the purpose of navigation ,unless you are hoping to get to a specific place within the forest.
Fauna & Flora
Flora
The majority of Kizumachi is temperate forest, however because of it's large nature the Eastern part becomes sub-tropical, and thus has vastly different plant and animal life. This is not about the Eastern forest. Common trees within the forest are oak, birch, beech, spruce, and maple, and non-tree plants are mostly of the fern and moss variety, though others such as Hardroot and several types of flowers can be found with relative ease.
Fauna
Animals include deer, boar, foxes, moles, bats, rabbits, woodpeckers, cuckoo birds, and several thousand types of beetles, all of which can be found in nearly all regions of the forest. For more specific information on the flora and fauna of each region go to that region. As for sentient life, goblinoids are pervasive through much of the forest, and treants can be found in all parts, though they are more concentrated in the North along with elves. lizardfolk inhabit the South, and mycanoids can be found all around the forest, though in small quantity.
