Mount Kazemoou
We had been paddling for about two days before we caught a glimpse of the mountain, but I believe the sight was worth it alone. A towering thing through the mist, mysterious and beautiful, so tall that you could not even see the top. The maple forest at the base was red with the autumn leaves. It was then that I knew there were people up in the sky, for how could such a thing exist without the Gods?- part of a speech by Yuuto Kobayashi as she declared rulership over the empire
Geography
Mount Kazemoou is a mountain in the centre of the island which sits atop Misuto Lake. It has an island of it's own, covered in a nice forest at the base before it begins to incline at all. From the divine realm atop the mountain flow endless waterfalls which cover about 1/3 of the mountain's surface and feed into Misuto Lake and all the rivers coming from it. On the side of the mountain there is rumoured to be a large staircase, carved into the stone, which can lead you to the top and thus the divine realm. Also rumoured is that there is a small monastery built into the mountain, but none have ever been able to confirm this as the mountain is covered in mist up until around the two kilometre mark. When approaching it from the lake you can see its outline in the distance, but you can never get the full picture of it unless you ascend to the top.
Fauna & Flora
Flora
The forest at the bottom is mostly composed of maple trees and a few apple trees, whose apples are perfectly ripe all year round. The forest floor does not have any fauna aside from the occasional rose bush that has sprouted beneath an apple tree.
Above the forest, on the mountain itself, one can still find willow trees occasionally overhanging off the side, with vines reaching down tens or hundreds of meters, often with centuries of growth behind them. There is also lichen on some of the faces of the mountain, most often higher up, and optimally facing the North.
Fauna
The lower forest is frequented by deer, chipmunks, and other animals which you will see in sunny forests such as boar and dogs. The higher you get on the mountain, however, the more odd and magical the creatures get. At the fringes of the forest, closest to the mountain, you can find a small treant population. Aside from the lizards and normal birds that frequent the middle reaches of the mountain, most of the things you find there and from that point onwards will be of direct divine origin. Whether they be seraphim, angels meant to guard the divine realm, young dragons, descended from the sky to see the material plane, or even the occasional physical manifestation of a God, the frequent visitors of the mountain are a diverse bunch.
