Yondemuno and the Three Ocean Goddesses

Yondemuno and the Three Ocean Goddesses are a collection of Gods who, together, encompass the oceans surrounding the island. Yondemuno, the only one of the four whose name is widely known, is the core of the faith as the deep sea is believed to be what brings the shallow, friendly and tumultuous sea together. Without the deep sea, and consequently Yondemuno the sea would be incomplete and the waters always shallow. The other three gods are depicted as either the wives or daughters of Yondemuno and perhaps both, depending entirely upon who you ask. A high priest of The Order of the Ocean, the church of the ocean Gods, is quoted as saying, "The fool thinks that Yondemuno has three wives, the wise man thinks that Yondemuno has three daughters, the profit thinks that Yondemuno has both, but none of them are right, for it is only for him and him alone to know who they are!" These three figures are widely unnamed, and their names are rumoured to be extremely hard to pronounce or even hear.
The Order of the Ocean is a fairly standard religion in that it operates out of temples, has priests and clerics, and is often found in large cities, but not often elsewhere, with the notable exception of coast towns which almost all have at very least a shrine to the ocean Gods. In these coastline towns and cities it is commonplace to bury the deceased in the sea, usually only those who have lived in the cities, but occasionally travellers without company or contact information are cast out as well. The church often prays for the Goddess of Tumultuous sea not to rear her head in return for a small donation, and stopping by a church of The Order of the Ocean is seen as both common decency and as good luck before departing for a voyage, as not doing so will anger the Gods.
