Elishat, Scion of Embers
Elishat is the Scion of Embers. Once called Phoebeth, she was an ancient phoenix who served as one of Sthygexxa’s generals during the War of Souls. During the centuries of warfare, she slowly fell in love with the Duchess of Trumpets, Sielach. Phoebeth secretly yearned for each new battle with the fiery deity, though only so that she might catch just one more glimpse of her beloved. Legends say that Phoebeth’s armies once cornered a wounded Sielach in the waning days of the War of Souls, but that her love for her enemy was so strong that she could not bear to deal the killing blow. Phoebeth, unable to slay the vulnerable deity, but equally unable to betray Sthygexxa, instead immolated herself in a great pyre of arcane flame that reached up to heavens - incinerating her army, but leaving Sielach untouched. The Duchess of Trumpets carried with her the still smoldering ashes of the fallen phoenix until at last the War of Souls was finally won. In her first act of victory, she resurrected Phoebeth and instilled within the reborn phoenix a spark of her own divinity, granting her a true soul and a new name - Elishat, the Scion of Embers.
