Stonescribe Horluk Ruindelver, Scion of Exploration

Stonescribe Horluk Ruindelver is the Scion of Exploration. In his youth, Horluk was insatiably curious about all manner of things, a rare trait amongst the trollkin kriels who tend to be mostly concerned with their traditions, their next great act of heroism, or the next raucous celebration. As he grew into an adolescent, the young trollkin heard the call of the Nameless Martyr's echo and turned to the worship of the Brisingelion. In most progenic societies, this would be a recipe for exile or worse, but the trollkin are a hard-headed people who rarely turn their back on their own - regardless of their religious inclinations.   Over the years, Horluk's aptitude for the acquisition and knowledge was noted by his kriel elders and he was trained to be a stonescribe - part historian, part storyteller, and part notary. He took to the role magnificently and served his kriel for many years as a loyal and talented stonescribe, writing their histories and telling them tales of heroes past. But Horluk's heart never at ease; he craved more. And so it was with much regret that he left his kriel to travel the whole of Edras, promising to bring back lost stories of ancient trollkin and relics of ages past. It was a promise unfilled, as Horluk was never able to make it back to kriel.   He spent the rest of his life exploring the ruins of Edras, delving into the lost secrets of bygone ages. In fact, the foundational practices of archaeology in the Age of Kings find their root in much of the work done by Horluk Ruindelver during his travels. Countless are the volumes written by the trollkin who would become the Scion of Exploration describing kingdoms long gone and lands unexplored by men in the Age of Kings. His mapping of the Teyacan Basin is still the most exhaustive and complete cartographic effort completed of that region. Unfortunately, there is no record of what fate befell the stonescribe, though many assume that he probably died to an ancient trap in some forgotten catacomb.    Long since raised up as the Scion of Exploration by Lesu, Stonescribe Horluk Ruindelver has spent the millennia wandering the places no one has tread before. A bit forgetful and easily distracted in his divine age, it is said that Horluk has gotten lost on a great journey beyond the Celestial Canopy, though that does't seem to have stopped him from answering prayers and granting miracles to the faithful.
