Faction Leader of the Cognates

A well-respected member of the Forum, the elected ruling body of the ALQ, Shahemi specializes in magical spiritualism, the conquest and improvement of the self, and scholarly affairs. Known for far more than her wild adventuring history and personal tutelage of the ALQ Driftblades, she also loudly believes information should be accessible to everyone, regardless of status, wealth, or connections. Denouncing the impermanence and mutability of digital data, she maintains a massive archive of physical manuscripts and tomes spread across facilities in countless star systems. Shahemi's beliefs, both on the topics of access to education and the Cycle, often lead her into disagreements with the Dataphiles.
Ironically, while she comes across to many as overly impetuous and offbeat, her love of traditions, her devotion to the Cycle, and her scholar's desire to monologue about admittedly unconventional research often causes others to see her as an eccentric professor or addled conspiracy theorist. Any skepticism as to her usefulness, however, disappears in the first firefight, as Shahemi has a reputation for launching herself into the fray and "letting the cosmos take control," slicing through hordes of enemies with terrifying calm.

The stars guide the planets with gravity, create life with light and heat, and utterly consume worlds in supernovas and black holes. We understand that these acts of creation and destruction are not opposites, but rather two parts of a natural, dualistic cycle. You seek to be an agent of that cycle, an enlightened warrior with the ability to manipulate the forces of the stars themselves. Existence is an endless, connected series of events as stars are born, die, and born again.
