Ashenport (Ash-in-port)
A small port city on the north western coast of Tropicosia. Even though it is a very small city, it has recently been doing quite well for itself. This city was created during the beginning of the Sacred Era. A group of pilgrims landed on the coast of Tropicosia in search of economic freedom, they set this land as their own by planting what is now known as the Great Tree in the center of the city. This has since been expanded on, several people have led Ashenport, most of which haven't been successful in trading with others, these include the family line of the first mayor of the city (Prolius, Portland, Tradner, and Rurwanty). After the people saw how this family wasn't doing the town good, they actually led a revolution against this powerful house, now they choose the mayor every 10 years through a democratic sense. Even through this only one mayor has really started at making Ashenport an actual place on the map, that is the current mayor Youndue Noppolous. He has been the mayor for 30 years and has done really most of the expanding of the city. This has led to what it is today, the ports on western side of the city are usually filled with trading ships and tourist ships. The docks are filled with people trying to sell fish and small jewelry, as you step further into the developed city you see the centerpiece of the town, the Great Tree, now hundreds of years old. Currently Ashenport only has one general store (residing directly North of the Great Tree), a Tavern (to the South of the Great Tree), a City Hall (across the street from the Tavern), and a blacksmith (mastercrafter, on the far south east side). All other building seem to be simple homes, the poverty rate in Ashenport is actually very low for being a smaller town, most people are living comfortable lives filled with trade and gold circulating around. A large stone wall is seen around the outside of the town, with a wooden gate on the North east corner, near the gate is the barracks. The overall soldiers of Ashenport is mostly apes, with a sprinkle of spies, all in allegiance with the Imperial Spy Empire. The commanding officer of this town on the other hand is a Sandsman.
Demographics
Most of the people of Ashenport are Ape, but overall you can see all types of races residing in the town. Everyone seems to be either loyal, or semi-loyal to the empire. The wealth is very much equal across most of the town, the amount of homeless people is very very low, and the amount of poverty in the city is also very low, most people live good comfortable lives as traders.
Government
This town is ruled by the emperor, but they re-elect their mayor every 10 years. The mayor is responsible for keeping track and maintaining the delicate trade routes of the ports, and the trades that go through the land as well. He also controls the small army of the town in any way he chooses, but he doesn't abuse this power unlike others have in previous leaders of the town.
Industry & Trade
This town makes most of it's trade through fishing, and through the crafting of Glort, it is simply legendary steel.
